MGB Roadster 1976 Ex-Californian
This MG returned to the UK in 1998. It has gone through a full rebuild with only 24,000 miles on the clock.
The body is fully original with all other parts refurbished or replaced including the engine.
Note the lights on the wings are USA spec.
I purchased the car in April 2002 but found the suspension to be very soft and because of this it had poor handling. This is because the USA model was lifted over 1 inch higher to conform to the USA laws. I have since lowered the car by 2 inches on the front and 1 inch on the rear.
The front anti-roll bar was upgraded to ¾ of an inch. The rear shockers were changed to Spax adjustables. The tyres were changed from 165 x 14 inch to 185/70 x 14 inch.
This work changed the handling dramatically and is now a much improved car to drive.
