Duncan's south african gt
My love of MGs started when I was about 9 or 10 years old and my eldest brother came home with a red TC which he had bought. (They were going fairly cheaply in the early 1960s, due to the MGA being the latest offering on the market).
When I was seventeen the B GT arrived on the market, and I was smitten! I always wanted a white one with wire wheels, but had to wait another thirtythree years to realise my dream. When I saw the car at the car show in 2000, it was everything I had dreamed of, colour (outside and interior), wire wheels, even the model year 1967/8, so I bought it partly with savings and partly with a second mortgage.
We have had seven trouble-free years of enjoyment from the car, going on club outings in South Africa and when we decided to emigrate to Scotland, we could not bear to leave the car behind, so here it is with us in Scotland where we are enjoying the club outings even more.
